Chris Whelan

Chris Whelan has got your back.

IF YOU HAPPEN TO STUMBLE UPON DR. CHRIS WHELAN’S FACEBOOK PAGE, YOU CAN’T HELP BUT NOTICE HIS FIVE-STAR REVIEWS. “Dr. Whelan is a wonderful chiropractor, as well as a very caring, nice, and funny guy.” “The best chiropractor in Savannah!” You could read on and on, but these are just few a praises that sum up how his patients feel about him. It’s no surprise, though, with more than 20 years of chiropractic experience under his belt, he’s the man people turn to in order to improve their quality of life when suffering from neck and back pain. He understands that no one likes pain or wants to be in it. That is why he chose to pursue a career that would be beneficial and helpful to those who experience it.

Dr. Whelan can diagnose and treat common spinal misalignments that can occur from lifestyle or injuries that cause pain, discomfort and degenerative
conditions. He understands that many people in the South live active lifestyles and in turn will oftentimes find themselves in pain. “Savannah is a wonderful place to be a chiropractor,” says Dr. Whelan. “The weather is great, the city is beautiful, but best of all are the people who live here.”

TREATMENTS/SERVICES
Chiropractic Adjustments • Spinal Traction • Muscle Stimulation • X-Rays • Massage

His office is located in the heart of Historic Downtown Savannah, and over the years he has treated thousands of diverse patients. Dr. Whelan has helped bartenders, lawyers, chefs, artists, surgeons, writers, professors, athletes, and longshoremen. He’s even had the opportunity to treat movie stars such as Channing Tatum, Dakota Johnson, John Cusack, and other actors while they were filming in Savannah. “Taking care of them was awesome, but we like to think that in our clinic, everybody is a celebrity.”

It’s that philosophy that keeps his patients coming back. Dr. Whelan provides all of his patients with a one-on-one experience because he understands
that each one is unique and their bodies will respond differently to treatment. He knows what works for one might not work for another and, because of that, he offers a broad range of therapies and works with patients to determine their best options for finding relief. His medical approach doesn’t stop at treatment, he also works with his patients to educate them on how important it is to condition your body in order to live a better life.

Scenes of the South

Plant Riverside District Grand Opening

After $400 million and the better part of the past decade, the Plant Riverside District has finally opened for business. This 419-room JW Marriot marks the creation of a all-new entertainment district on River Street's west end. Speeches were made, hands were shaken (or rather, elbows were tapped), and the ribbon was finally cut, unveiling this monumental project for the public to enjoy.

Adding to the excitement was the concurrent release party for South magazine’s Faces of the South: The Trilogy Edition. With safety and social distancing measures in place, guests enjoyed the sweet sounds of the Equinox Orchestra, dined on a sampler platter of Savannah’s finest food and drink and marveled at the excitement of watching Savannah’s hottest new entertainment district come to life.

FACES OF THE SOUTH — THE TRILOGY GALLERY 5

This is not a celebration. It is not a salute. This, readers, is a manifesto. It is a bold declaration of the richness of the South, of the majestic talents, relentless ambition and singular vision that reside just behind each face you pass in your travels. These are the faces of the people who are creating the new South through the sweat of their brow and the depth of their passions. But if you never look closer you may never know how deep that passion goes, and what it has accomplished.
