Monday 5 Things…..Enough…..

Whilst editing some photographs at the bar of a local waterhole - quenching my thirst with some exceptional draft lagers - I overhead a professional looking couple having somewhat of a spat about time, or lack thereof, that they were spending together.  At one point, the clearly frustrated woman exclaimed to her mate “That’s it.  Enough is enough!”  I became focused on the word “enough” and let my mind meander over what enough means in my personal and professional life.  Hence, today’s M5T questions the importance of enough.

1. Humble Enough

Sincerity in success.  Modesty in failures.  Without an open mindset of humility we limit our opportunities to learn, grow and realize our goals.  There is a fine line between arrogance and confidence, and it takes wisdom to foster a healthy ego.  Our best decisions often come when we swallow our pride and listen to others.

2. Focused Enough

Our direction in life is often dictated by our focus.  Pay attention to what gives you energy and lifts you up.  Define your goals and frame them with what is truly important to achieving your dreams.  Be ruthless in who you spend your time with, and where you put your efforts.  There is an adage that you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.  Choose wisely.

3.  Patient Enough

Persevere with your process.  The best results rarely come easily or quickly.  Recognize the stresses in life and give your mind and body the gift of rest.  Turn off the noise.  Listen to what speaks to you with that small still voice that often can only be heard when you step back.  Take time to be inspired, to create and to add value and quality in all that you do.

4. Consistent Enough

Take steps forward every day despite setbacks.  Tackle the hard things first.  Eliminate those things that drain you and drag you down.  Take aim at your dreams and never apologize for standing out from the crowd.  Project yourself with positivity and defend yourself from negativity.  Be present.

5. Thankful Enough

Be open with your gratitude and generous with grace.  Tell someone what they mean to you. Grant yourself permission to be happy.  Recognize your blessings.  Give... with purpose and kindness, of yourself, your time and your talents.
